I am currently en route to BlogHouse Chicago 2014 and ever since I found out I was accepted in March, it has been a whirlwind of excitement from planning excursions to take in the city, to booking flights, to staying in contact with the hosts and participants through social media.
What is BlogHouse?
BlogHouse, was founded in 2012 by bloggers Stephanie Yoder of Twenty-Something Travel, Michael Tieso of Art of Adventuring, Michael Hodson of Go, See, Write, Cailin O’Neil of Travel Yourself, and Kate McCulley of Adventurous Kate.
BlogHouse is now hosted by Navigate Media Group and provides both established and newbie bloggers with the opportunity to learn different aspects of blogging by expert travel bloggers. For four days, bloggers will learn, work, and network with each other in addition to exploring the city where it is being held.
BlogHouse History
The first BlogHouse was held in Besalú, Spain in 2012 . 5 senior travel bloggers and 10 up-and-coming travel bloggers stayed together in a villa, did a lot of blogging, had a PR & Media Night, and explored the city of Besalú.
The following year (2013) BlogHouse was held in Toronto, Canada and 12 bloggers were selected to participate with an awesome group of professionals ranging from Rob Ross, the SEO expert from The Flight Network to world-renowned travel blogger Gary Arndt from Everything Everywhere.
After a successful BlogHouse in Toronto, the third BlogHouse (2013) returned to Europe for BlogHouse Ireland. 10 bloggers were selected to participate and again a handful of expert travel bloggers instructed, worked with, and networked with them to build their brands.
The fourth BlogHouse will be landing in the Unites States for the first time and will be happening in the ‘Windy City’ of Chicago, Illinois from June 7-10, 2014.
Announcing: BlogHouse Chicago 2014
As aforementioned, this year’s BlogHouse will be taking place in Chicago, Illinois. I am excited to have been selected as one of 14 bloggers who will be embarking on the city to learn from experts such as Lisa Lubin, Cailin O’Neil, Ayngelina Brogan, Michael Tieso, Stephanie Yoder, and Sherry Ott.
There are also a number of great sponsors (Gogo, FlipKey, Megabus, and Goose Island) and In-Kind Sponsors who are helping to make BlogHouse Chicago possible and successful.
I am so excited to be a part of the BlogHouse history and I cannot wait to share all of my experiences with you!
See you soon!
Congrats…looks like the beginning of something huge. Good luck on all of your journeys.
Thanks so much Wilkine! 🙂 I am really excited about this opportunity to meet other bloggers and to learn how to become a better blogger!
