The Flag Zurich Hotel

During my journey to Japan from New York City to Tokyo, I made a quick one-and-a-half day stop in the city of Zurich, Switzerland.

During my search for accommodation in Zurich, I was looking for a hotel that was easy to access, had positive reviews, and was stylish. I narrowed my search down to a few hotels within the city and then ultimately decided upon staying at The Flag Zurich in the northwestern part of the city.

From the outside of the hotel, you might never guess that the inside is artistic and extremely modern, but pictures of the inside of the hotel that I found online were what led me to choose The Flag as my accommodation of choice within the city.

Upon check-in, I was warmly greeted by the friendly front desk staff and given helpful advice about things to do in the area before being assigned to my room on the third floor.

I arrived to my room, which had a keyless entry system, and stepped inside. I immediately fell in love with simple but modern style of the room.

Some of the things that I loved about my room were: the floor-to-ceiling hallway mirrors, the high-pressured shower head in the bathroom, the comfortable sitting chair next to the floor-to-ceiling window, and the keyless entry system. Some things that I wish the room included were: a telephone, additional lighting in the sleeping area, and more outlets. Despite the lack of a few basic things, I thought the room was wonderful overall.

As previously mentioned, I was searching for a hotel with a unique artistic touch, and The Flag certainly had many pieces of artwork that were pleasing to the eye. The hotel’s artwork can be seen everywhere from the lobby, to all of the hallways, to the rooms.
